Prisoners of Fear (Audible Audio Edition) GeraLind Kolarik Joseph B Kearns Books

Let me start by saying I did not buy and read this book for any entertainment factor. I bought it to find out more information about a person I once knew, Connie Krauser. I worked with Connie at Waccamaw Pottery in Rolling Meadows. She was a wonderful person. So kind, friendly and personable. What happened to her SHOULD NOT happened to anyone. I felt sick back on March 18, 1992 when I opened up the Daily Herald and read the article about her murder. If you are being abuse, get help! Make sure you are safe from the abuser. Leave and assume another identity if you have to. Had Connie done that, she'd probably still be alive today.

Prisoners of Fear (Audible Audio Edition) GeraLind Kolarik Joseph B Kearns Books Reviews

Remarkable retelling - extraordianry empathy and compassion while detailing the gruesome realities of a violent death. Of course the reporting of this changed lives and laws. A truly compelling read.
I found this book very compelling. I love reading true stories, and this really gave you a feel for the people in this story. You got know them, their life, and see what was going through the mind of a killer. You felt yourself stepping into the lives of these people. Feeling the anger, the frustration, the love that these families had. The author really gets you introduced to lives of everyone in the book.
This is a great book. If you're a true crime lover, this is the book for you.
I actually felt the "Fear" in the indelible word pictures created by this author. Ms. Kolarik has not only done an amazing amount of investigative reporting to come up with incredible detail on this case, but she has been able to convert her research into a totally gripping narrative that makes this book (e-book) among the very best of its genre. My highest recommendation!
i wanted another book with the same title, but it's my mistake!! i will still read the book and it was in good condition as described.
The tragic story of Wayne Chaney ,a man pushed over the edge.A sad and true story of love gone bad.
I find Prisoners of Fear, one of the best, because I really can see & feel what is in the mind of the stalker & the mind of the victim.
Gera-Lind Kolarik is an awesome journalist that weaves the tale of Connie & Wayne Chaney, by using Wayne's actual diaries & Connie's
own words of fear that were part of the court documents. Only a true journalist could tell this story. The family member who gave this
a bad review must be filled with guilt for allowing their sister to go through this abuse without taking her into their home, to protect her
and her 2 yr. old son, Max. This is truly one of the best True Crime books I have ever read.
I remember this headline story in the Tribune when it was happening. I love the photo's in the book. They helped me understand better the story.
